Brief Description: During this International Tax Dialogue, Nathan Bush, Partner at DLA Piper specializing in U.S./China trade and tariffs, will discuss with International Tax Partner Barbara Voskamp the volatility in trade and investment relations between the U.S. and China, as well as the impact on Southeast Asia and Singapore. We will discuss whether we expect these policy shifts to impact the operational business models centered around a Singapore regional or global headquarter and how this may have a knock-on effect on tax strategies and transfer pricing models. Nathan Bush, who graduated from Harvard Law School, started his career in Washington D.C. with one of the leading US firms and was seconded to Beijing in 2004, where he was part of the anti-trust and corporate investigation practice. He moved to Singapore in 2013 where he is heading the international trade practice of DLA Piper. Nathan is a fluent Mandarin speaker and is described by Chambers as an invaluable adviser blending his law and public policy expertise. Barbara Voskamp is an international tax lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in tax structuring designing solutions and models for multinational groups and platforms. They will be joined by Anne Klaassen, transfer pricing specialist, who will share some of the practical implications as well as best practices from a transfer pricing point of view.
